Job Description
Konik PrimeStaff is working with a medical device company seeking to add a Mechanical Test Engineer on a contract basis. This engineer will assist in test activities for medical device products including caring out tests, gathering data, and documenting results. This role is a 6 month contract that could go longer.
Test Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing test approaches and fixtures to satisfy the product requirements.
  • Conduct test method validations and characterization testing related.
  • Design verification testing and report results related to medical device products.
  • Document test studies by recording test results, preparing reports, and maintaining test database.
  • Operate test lab equipment and software such as mechanical testing load frames, servo hydraulic/fatigue, impact drop stands, and data acquisition.
  • Utilize statistical tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), ANOVA, Gauge R&R for experimental design and data analysis.
  • Identify root cause and work to eliminate future failures.
Job Requirements

Test Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years test engineering in medical device development.
  • Gage R&R required
  • Experience with medical device design verification testing.
  • Understanding of test standards, equipment and test lab methodologies.
  • Ability to write and create test reports.
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in static and cyclic testing, data acquisition, and general test engineering methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ASTM Standards preferred.
